In 2015, what began as a local effort to bring more dignity and consistency to community-based care has grown into a trusted name in both senior home care and services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Today, we are celebrating a decade of service, the thousands of lives we’ve touched, and the incredible caregivers who make it all possible.
Amivie was born from a simple, yet powerful belief: everyone deserves care that honors their independence and personal story. Originally known as Community-Based Care, we began with a focus on I/DD support, earning the trust of families, case managers, and individuals who needed a partner, not just a provider.
Over time, our commitment to personalized, dependable care led us to expand our services to include seniors and veterans. That evolution, along with 45+ new service locations, paved the way for our rebrand to Amivie: a name that means “a friend in life” and reflects our belief that connection is at the heart of care.
Ten years later, Amivie now offers a full spectrum of services designed to meet people where they are—in their homes and in their lives. What sets us apart isn’t just the range of services, but how we deliver them. Every care plan is individualized. Every caregiver is thoughtfully matched. And every client is seen and supported as a whole person.
We walk alongside individuals with I/DD as they build lives of purpose, dignity, and connection through:
Each of these services is delivered by teams who know their communities, value long-term relationships, and are passionate about helping people live joyfully.
The true heart of Amivie? Our people. From compassionate DSPs and CNAs to supervisors who know every client’s name and story, our team is driven by purpose. They are companions, advocates, and problem-solvers—often providing the only consistent connection some clients have each week.
Our care-giver matchmaking approach ensures that we and the clients form lasting bonds. This, combined with low turnover and hands-on supervision, allows us to offer what so many families are searching for: stability, trust, and care that feels personal.
In every community we serve, you’ll find our teams volunteering, attending events, and ensuring individuals with I/DD have access to meaningful experiences through our Community Concepts Foundation. Together, we’re building communities where every person feels included, valued, and empowered to live a life they choose.
The future of Amivie is focused on growing with heart. We’re investing in new technology, caregiver training, and expanding senior and I/DD service lines. We aim to raise the standard for in-home care one relationship at a time.
We also plan to enhance digital tools, from smarter caregiver scheduling to more accessible family communication, so every client feels informed, connected, and supported. And as we grow into new communities, we’re committed to bringing the same heart-led, high-quality care to more families who need a trusted partner.
To our clients, families, caregivers, and community partners: thank you. You’ve trusted us in life’s most personal moments. You've helped shape who we are.
As we celebrate 10 years, we invite you to continue the journey with us. Whether you're looking for support or seeking meaningful work, you’re always welcome here.
